Conversations with Time’

Cindy Leong has built a practice which investigates painting through a spiritual and philosophical lens.

‘Conversations With Time’ presents Leong’s latest body of paintings. A respite from the intensity of the external world, her practice serves as a conduit for meditation. Within each work, there is a sensation of an unfurling of time, with each brushstroke capturing a unique moment which cannot be replicated or erased.

After Blue’ —

“After Blue is inspired by my ongoing exploration of the sensation of the natural world and the changing colours that occur within it. These changes can also be seen in the fluctuating temperatures that surround me while painting, through the combination of warm and cool tones. The canvas acts as a melting pot of blues and oranges as the weather changes. I ask myself, what can the interaction between colour, texture and different painting gestures tell us about the way nature interacts with each other?”
